Lined Drawstring Bag Gift

Lined drawstring bag made by me from The Stash + $3 wooden puzzle from The Warehouse = 1 inexpensive gift from Baby to Milla when she is born.

This baby is already on a budget, and she's lovin' it.

Debs lined drawstring bag tutorial was a huge hit! It leaves the bag so neat and tidy with no seams. I'll be making more for our other puzzles and have ideas of what other items NEED their own bags too! The only problem is I'm running a little short on time to actually complete all these dreams of mine!

[stop by tomorrow, super awesome jewellery giveaway happening here!!]

This Saturday - LOVE BOMB making!

These ^^ are the beginnings of a LOVE BOMB.

First I print off the email correspondance for the nomination, then I highlight all the important bits and print off a large version of the address.

Then I get to choosing things from our Shelves that I think would be appropriate / have been suggested by the nominator. I bundle them all up together (often at night) and in the daylight hours during a nap time I lay them out and photograph them, write out on the print out what I've put in them, find a box and packaging that will fit (this is often the hardest part!) and tape them up and address them.

A few days later I'll call our Post Haste courier, they need to be picked up on a day when I'm going to be at home the whole day, a lovely pacific islander who doesn't seem to speak much english waits outside our security gate with a big smile will ring through on our security gate. I presume he doesn't know the precious cargo that he carries in our packages, but he treats them like he does and always wishes me a happy day. He looks after our love bombs and makes sure they are delivered safely.

At a later time I download the photos, edit them with the watermark and publish a post with the photos and details of the LOVE BOMB.

The current state of The Shelves. This is them in a tidy state!

This Saturday Sisters in Christchurch are invited over to my place in Phillipstown at 7pm. We'll have dessert together (bring something if you can) and make up more LOVE BOMBs.

When I first thought of inviting you over I actually thought I would have made up all the bombs by now. I thought I would surprise you and be like "I'm super woman! I've done them all!" But the truth is I'm not super woman. I'm 34 weeks pregnant, big and tired I need all the help I can get and I can't see me being able to fit in any more time for love bomb making between now and then (i've made up 8... only another 20 or so to go!?) (I will print off all the nominations though. That's important!)

I'm following my own advice and giving myself a break and releasing expectations I put on myself. Instead I'm going to willingly accept your offer of help and kindness, and I'm going to make it as fun for us as possible. I'll lay everything out on our table. You can have your nomination to "shop" for. You can take the photo, you can package them up, you can send them a few well wishes as you attach their address. It can be you and US all together.

Sound like fun? Come and join us if you're in Christchurch. Email me for my address (and let me know you're coming! PLEASE COME!) (sophieATmoo2DOTcoDOTnz)

6 Mothery Things

A few mothery things from a mothery weekend:

  • On Saturday we took a spontaneous 1.5 hr trip to Hanmer Springs, a thermal village with hot pools here in Canterbury. The planets just seemed to align and cause it to be so, and there we were. It was something I really wanted to do with MrMoo and Milla before the newest baby is here so we could all enjoy it and all get in the pools. And the weather was amazing. Milla was amazing. Everything just worked out.
  • After we got out of the hot pools I had a real honest to goodness contraction. All I could think about was that I hadn't saved my midwives number in my phone yet... And the bench of dishes I had left back in Christchurch. No idea if the hot pools (25 & 26deg (the temp of a birth pool)) and the contraction are related. Haven't had any since.
  • I'm so excited about our newest baby whose getting ready to be born. She's been head down for weeks, I'm getting achy and big, and as my last daughter was a tiny bit early I'm preparing for this one to be born a little early too (just incase).
  • Even though I am just so excited about having a second, I am also undeniably a little sad that Milla wont have my undivided attention any more (well... between her, the housework and the fun stuff. You know what I mean). I'll be pulled between two little ones with completely different needs. I'm a little sad about that. But I know it will work.
  • I'm thankful that everything I need to be, in my eyes, a successful Mother I get on tap from God. Patience, love, selflessness, energy, courage, strength. It all comes from him. Thats what makes me know I'm ready for this baby. A bassinet and a capsule we still haven't got, but He carries those who have young. And that makes it all okay.
  • We're planning our second home birth (still not sure if we'll prepare for a water birth or not..) , there sure is a lot of extra things to get and organise vs hospital bag. Glamourous things too: Rubbish bags, old towels, sieves (*cough*)...

Here's somethings I want to know from you. I'd appreciate an email or a comment:
    - Any recommendations for light novel reading in the middle of the night while feeding
    - Did you blog leading up to having (and afterwards) your second child? Leave me a link to the tags, I'd love to read about your experience.
    - Who goes in the car first. Toddler or baby? I'm thinking toddler - then at least I know she wont run away while the capsule is strapped in, right?
    - Are any of you seasoned home birthers? Anything extra I should think about that I might not have come across yet? (especially regarding child care, introducing toddler and baby at home, etc etc etc)
