Babymoo2 - 20 Weeks, wearing Breastmates

At the beginning of this pregnancy I vowed to myself (body and soul) that I would wear some lovely maternity wear. Last pregnancy I didn't buy anything aside from jeans, and as a result stretched every single item of clothing I owned. When the baby came, none of it was wearable so I had to throw it all out and invest in a -whole- new wardrobe. Silly Sophie. I learnt.

MrMoo and I attended a wedding at the weekend and I got the opportunity to show off my brand new Glory Breastmates Dress from their new maternity line.

I felt pregnant and fabulous in it and I think it shows! Its stretchy, soft and fits my pregnant figure perfectly! My new go to "special" favourite!  This isn't the only time I've worn it since owning it. I've worn it on two date nights with MrMoo and to a Sunday morning Church service. If I had a job I think it would go down a treat in an office too!

I generally base my new outfits success on the amount of out-of-the-blue compliments I get. So far this has received nine. NINE! (I consider 3 good). I'm excited about having a nice dress to wear through the big months and then through the breastfeeding stage. Last time I missed not being able to wear dresses while breastfeeding, not realising maternity clothes allowed for nursing and this one does! Yipee!

The wedding we went to was lovely, MrMoo played celebrant for the first time (anyone want to get married!?) and the dress did great transitioning from an afternoon under the hot sun to eating dinner outside in a garden in the shade. Maternity wear, I am completely sold!

The 20 week bump is ever expanding in a basketball like fashion and BabyMoo2 is already half way along, it is flying by and I feel fabulous (and rushed!). I love the middle of pregnancy. My sickness has stopped, my skin and hair feel healthy and lovely and I'm reminded just to slow down, enjoy it and feel beautiful while it lasts!

(( Don't be surprised if every photo you see of me for the next 20 weeks has this dress in it! I'm a big fan! ))

Handmade Skirt

A little while ago I set myself a new challenge to dust off my old sewing machine and to get using it! The only way to get better at something is with practice, not thinking if only I was better...

After I received the travelling Stash Box I realised my opportunity had come, there was some devine thick fabric in there that was the perfect amount for a super simple skirt!

One day I would love to put a little applique pocket on the front, but lets face it, I'm not much of a perfectionist and now that I have 'finished' this I probably wont be altering it. Dreams, huh?

Anyway, I quickly had to sew this then and there (10pm at night) and debuted it at Church the next morning. Hubby loved seeing my legs after a long winter! ;)

It feels SO GOOD to have made something that I can wear myself!

My summer sewing challenge I have set for myself:

1x Skirt
1x Top
3x Dresses

The print on the fabric is navy and white. I teemed it with a colbolt blue cardi, and a peachy pink scarf and matching shoes. Just between us I love wearing scarves. For someone who has a limited wardrobe they are the perfect accessory to change any outfit!

Outfit Deets::
Silk scarf: Gift from a friend visiting India
Cardigan: Glassons
Skirt: Handmade by meeee
Shoes: Warehouse

Cycle Runway Fashion Show

Last night I attended my very first fashion show with a small group of Christchurch bloggers! We were there to be inspired by sustainable fashion - recycled, upcycled, quality, fashion-lasting pieces were the stars of the evening, designed and shown by local artists worn by modens on adorable 50's cycles. Yes, bikes down a runway, it made for a few giggles in the first half with some very nervous (read: wobbly) models.

I loved attending this fashion show! I definitely think I could get used to this life, drooling over such lovely creations!

Best of all, we got to see our beautiful bloggy friend Nin of Sailor Spy showcase her range of beautiful, well tailored and detailed clothing! It was such a pleasure to be a part of it and cheer her on!

Afterwards we went out for coffee and talked and talked and talked. As bloggers do.

Myself, Juliet & Miriam  (Roz was behind the camera, preferring to stay anon!)

During half time of the show I had some photos snapped, attempting to join into Wardrobe Wednesday (now hosted by Miriam). Here I am, on the catwalk, strutting my stuff ;)
